Good to know

  • Pages you redact are saved as pictures with the black boxes painted in, so the covered text is gone from the file. Those pages can no longer be searched or copied from.
  • Searching finds text in PDFs that have real text. For a scan, draw the boxes by hand.
  • By default the file's author, comments and attachments are removed too. Untick that to keep them.
  • Check the result before you share it.
